Aion Spiritmaster Introduction
In this Aion guide we will be taking a closer look at one of your possible choices as a Mage; the Spiritmaster class.
First off, the main difference between playing a Sorcerer and a Spiritmaster is the fact that you will be using “pets”, or if you want to stay true to the lore of the game; spirits of the world of Atreia. In other words: summoned creatures of different kinds and elements who do your bidding.
This fact means that you, the character, doesn’t have to take as much damage, as your faithful spirit servant will draw the aggro from the mob most of the time.
This fact makes the Spiritmaster a very good choice for players who will be aiming mostly for PvE and who like soloing a lot. Having pets means you’ll be able to take on several mobs at a time, making you into a monster grinding maniac.
Just like the Sorcerer, you won’t be able to take a lot of damage because your defense is not exactly top notch, seeing as the only Armor you have available is made of Cloth. You will be depending on keeping your enemies at bay until you can weaken them enough, or even kill them before they have a chance to hit you (which in a lot of cases is entirely possible, especially during the earlier levels).
While your sibling class does this through Crowd Control skills and defensive buffs, you will be using your spirit pet friends for the same purpose.
While the Sorcerer class wields a lot of DPS skills, the Spiritmaster is more aimed at doing Damage Over Time. Many discussions have been had who is capable of dishing out the highest amount of damage of the two classes, but no clear answer has been given.
In the end though, choose this class if you wish to be able to take on many mobs by yourself without any players giving you a helping hand. And of course, some people just like having pets.
